Welcome Networking Reception
Wednesday 16 November, 18.00pm – 20.00pm
To be held in the Trade Expo, the reception offers delegates and exhibitors a chance to informally network over drinks and canapés, and to get a glimpse of what the Trade Expo will offer over the coming days. The reception is open to all delegates and is included in your registration but you must indicate if you are attending.

The FPA Chair, Matthew Rowe, CFP®, personally invites you to join him and the FPA Board directors for a fundraising dinner on Wednesday 16 November, at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, commencing at 7.30 pm.
The purpose of the dinner is to bring to life the FPA’s vision and your table will be hosted by an FPA board director or senior executive, who will be there to respond to your questions and engage in discussion.
New! We are excited to announce that Grant Hackett, three time Olympian and current Head of Westpac Sports + Entertainment, a specialist banking and wealth management service will be our keynote speaker at the Professionals Dinner.

Future / New Planner Breakfast
Thursday 17 November, 6.45am for a 7.15am start, finishing at 8.15am
Join us for at the Future/New Planner breakfast presented by Noel Whittaker AM, Co-Founder of Whittaker Macnaught Pty Ltd. In this session Noel will explore issues facing young planners as they make their start in the profession.
Topics of discussion will include:
- What makes a successful adviser;
- Developing your soft skills to deal with difficult clients;
- Making the next steps in your careers;
- Finding your niche in the industry; and
- How to find referral sources with limited career experience.
Noel Whittaker has written 20 bestselling books that have sold over two million copies around the world. He has also produced two bestselling audiocassette albums and a Wealth Creator CD-ROM. His book “Making Money Made Simple” set sales records across the country and was recently named in the top 100 of the most influential books of the last century. Noel was named 1988 Australian Investment Planner of the Year. In 2003, he was awarded the Australian Centenary Medal in recognition of his services to the financial services industry and was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2011.
He is currently an Executive in Residence with the Faculty of Business at the Queensland University of Technology and is a member the Australian Securities and Investment Commission Liaison committee. Noel is a Fellow of CPA Australia, a Fellow of the Taxation Institute, a Certified Financial Planner, and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
Tickets for the breakfast are included in most conference registration costs for delegates who qualify to attend (based on the above description). However, for catering purposes you must indicate on your registration form if you will be attending. Tickets are limited. Conference delegates will be able to register for the conference prior to the start of breakfast.

Tickets for the Gala Dinner are included in most conference registration fees for delegates, and many sponsorship packages also include tickets. However, you must indicate on your registration form if you will be attending (for catering purposes).
Additional tickets for guests can be purchased via the conference registration form and via the online registration system for $155 (inc GST).
The dress code for the Gala Dinner is ‘Dinner Suits’ or ‘Cocktail’.
